The ROSE Program (ROSE) is a supportive, confidential and trauma-informed group exercise program for women who are experiencing, or have experienced, family and domestic violence. ROSE stands for Reclaim, Overcome, Strengthen and Empower.
To protect participants’ privacy, location details are provided after booking.
Women are not required to discuss their experiences of family and domestic violence in order to participate in ROSE.
First-time participants complete a short confidential health and exercise safety screening as part of their booking. Returning participants are only asked to confirm whether anything relevant to their health or exercise participation has changed since their previous attendance.
New participants are welcomed and introduced to ROSE when they arrive for their first session, with exercises adapted where needed.
ROSE is held every Friday morning from 9.15 am and runs for 45 minutes. Sessions are welcoming and adaptable to a range of abilities, fitness levels and exercise experience.
A $10 participant contribution applies to each Friday session. Sessions are booked in advance through Humanitix.
After class, women are welcome to stay for Coffee and Connection, providing a relaxed opportunity to connect with others and continue conversations at their own pace.
Shower facilities are available.
Crèche care is available until 11.45 am for a maximum of two children per participant, aged from eight weeks to six years. Crèche places are subject to availability and a separate small fee applies for up to two hours of care.
Bookings are for the selected ROSE session and are non-refundable and non-transferable in the event of participant cancellation, change of mind or non-attendance.
Please note: Crèche places are subject to availability and follow the terms of conditions of the Y, Serpentine Jarrahdale Recreation Centre. If you require more information please don’t hesitate to contact us via our confidential email: admin@sarahfordfounation.org
